Cuttack-A win U-16 Inter-District Cricket Tournament

Cuttack-A emerged champions in the Odisha U-16 Inter-District Cricket Tournament by virtue of taking a 231-run first innings lead against Khurda in their three-day final match, which ended in a draw at Bidanasi Ground here today. In reply to Khurda`s modest first innings score of 133, Cuttack-A were all out for 364. As many three batsmen scored a half-century each for Cuttack-A, while Anuruddh Chowdhury emerged as the most successful Khurda bowler, bagging six wickets for 114 runs.

Khurda boys put up much better performance in the second innings with SA Qadir and Nilu Pradhan hitting a half-century each. When the match ended in a draw, Khurda were 227 for six. Odisha Cricket Association Asirbad Behera handed over the trophy at the presentation ceremony. Champions Cuttack-A received a cash prize of Rs 10,000 and runners-up Khurda settled with Rs 5,000.
